Wanda L. Wellman, 83, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2019. She was born on November 5, 1936, in Springfield, the daughter of the late Wheeler and Mabel (Murphy) Whitaker. Wanda is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Lee Wellman; children, Steve (Sue) Wellman, Kerry (Claire) Wellman and Cindy Eatherton (Scott Justice); grandchildren, Luke (Brittney) Wellman, Matt (Brittany) Wellman, Victoria Thomas, Jamee Wellman, Justin (Shanda) Wellman, Ty (Stephanie) Cobb, Samantha Short, Ryan Eatherton and Josh (Nicole) Justice; 14 great-grandchildren, sister, Betty (Charles) Robinson-Bruce; special friends, John and Monica Lippolis, Kendra Espich and Ray and Sandy Gates; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, Gilbert Whitaker and brother-in-law, Russell Wellman. Wanda worked for Capital Dry Cleaners for over 20 years and was a member of the CCL Ladies Club. She loved bowling and was continuing to bowl up until just a few months ago. Wanda enjoyed watching professional football and baseball and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Cincinnati Bengals. Above all else, Wanda adored her family and always put their needs first. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will forever be missed. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 from 4-7p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center. Service will be Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 1p.m. with Pastor Rick Clos officiating. Entombment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
