Walter Endicott, 95, was promoted to Glory the evening of November 4, 2020. He was born July 24, 1925, in Martin County, Kentucky, to Edward and Essie Endicott. He had 9 sisters and 6 brothers. All have preceded him in death except one surviving sister, AnnaLee Griffin. Walter was a WWII Vet serving in the South Pacific and Japan. He married the love of his life, Marie Dempsey, on September 20, 1947. Their marriage continued over 71 years until his beloved wife preceded him in death on July 4, 2019. They had 3 children: John and Connie (Endicott) Hendershot of Arizona, Richard Endicott of Springfield, and Robert E. and the late Barbara (Endicott) Shaw Jr. Walter has 3 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews that he enjoyed visiting with by phone or in person. Most of his life Walter worked as an operating engineer running a bulldozer. He worked on the Brown Dam and Caesar Creek Dam, I-70, I-675, and various other projects making life better in the surrounding areas. In 1957, he accepted Christ as his Savior. His desire was to live a life that honored his Lord. He enjoyed reading the Bible. His life was full and he was ready to go “HOME”. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 1-2p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with service beginning at 2p.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Ferncliff Cemetery.
