Wallace Alan Hayslip

February 2, 1954 — September 29, 2024

Springfield

Wallace Alan Hayslip, lovingly known as Wally, was born on February 2, 1954, in Springfield, Ohio, and he peacefully passed away on September 29, 2024 surrounded by his beloved family. Wally was a man of many talents, dedicating his career to the art of refinishing antique furniture and sharing his skills as an interior and exterior painter. His commitment to craftsmanship was evident in his long-standing employment at the Springfield Antique Show and Flea Market for over 25 remarkable years.

Wally's generous spirit and unwavering willingness to lend a helping hand were hallmarks of his character. He cherished his wife, Catherine (Brown) Hayslip, who was the absolute center of his universe. Their bond was profound, and it is clear that Catherine was not just Wally’s partner but the reason for his very being. The love they shared was an irreplaceable part of his life, reflecting a deep devotion that resonated through all his actions.

Beyond his professional life, Wally was a vibrant person who loved music, relished the excitement of Nascar races and horse racing, and found joy in mushroom hunting and deer hunting. He was often found enjoying a cold beer while creating lasting memories with family and friends.

He leaves behind a loving family that includes his cherished children, Annie Hayslip (Zach Henry), Andy (Lisa) Hayslip, and Amber (Hope) Hayslip, who will forever carry his legacy in their hearts. His grandchildren, Emma and Reed Henry, Drew and Austin Hayslip, and his great-granddaughter, Charli Hayslip, will also hold dear the lessons of kindness and generosity he imparted throughout their lives. Wally is survived by his devoted siblings, Kevin (Jenny) Hayslip, Kimberly Hall, Tony (Ashley) Ross, Gerald (Robin) Ross, and David (Donita) Ross. He leaves numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss his laughter and wisdom.

Wally was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Olive Ann (Graham) Hayslip, his beloved wife Catherine, and his brother Robert "Butch" Hayslip.
