Wallace L. Collett, age 60, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on April 15, 2025. Born on July 2, 1964, in Springfield, Ohio, Wally was a beloved figure known for his goofy and fun-loving spirit. He was a gentle man with a heart of gold who always cared for others, particularly his beloved fiancé, Marsha Frazier.
Wally’s early education included diesel mechanic studies at the Joint Vocational School, and he was a proud graduate of Shawnee High School, Class of 1984. Throughout his life, he developed a passion for automobiles and was an avid car fanatic. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, loved fishing with his dad, brothers and step-son, and found joy in spending quality time with his dear cat, Max. Wally was also an enthusiastic pool player and delighted in watching Street Outlaws as well as supporting the Dallas Cowboys.
Wally’s love for family was profound. He is survived by his fiancée, Marsha Frazier; his daughter, Jaylin Holbrook; and his cherished grandchildren: Kade, Elijah, Ethan, Lathyn, Salem, Autumn, Ashton and Liam. He leaves behind his brother, Charles (Chris) Collett, and sisters, Debbie Collett, Sharon Jeffries, Patricia (Rick) Raber, and his baby sister whom he shared a special bond with, Estella (Kelly) Belford. Wally also adored his step-son, Zane (Ashlee) Frazier and step-daughter, Paige (Keegan) Myers. He held a very special place in his heart for his niece, Sierra (Kyle) Lanum. In addition, he will be remembered fondly by several nieces and nephews, including Matthew Kane, Amiee (Ryan) Collett, Envy Belford, and Nicole Belford and a special cousin, Brandon Russell.
In honor of his cherished friendships, Wally is also survived by lifelong friends Donny Lickliter, Dustan Conley, Martin Lickliter, Terry Wagner, Joe Peck and Joyce and Greg Adkins, as well as his special sister-in-law, Barb Pierce, and dear friends Stephanie Belford and Connie Kupp.
Wally was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Lenvil and Patricia (Maine) Collett; his brother, Leonard Collett; his grandson, Levi; and a close friend, Steve Eichelberger.
A visitation will be held on April 19, 2025, from 11:00am - 1:00pm at Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center followed by a funeral service beginning at 1pm.
