Sylvia Joyce Waldren

Sylvia Joyce Waldren, age 86, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 7, 2025. She was born on July 31, 1938, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of the late Hugh D. and Anna (Hauptmann) Hutchins. 

Sylvia was a longtime resident of Dayton, Ohio. She had a profound love for traveling, exploring new places, and creating lasting memories. She also cherished her relationships with people, finding deep fulfillment in the connections she built with friends and family alike.

Perhaps one of her greatest joys was her role as a grandmother. She took immense pride in being a loving and devoted grandma to all, creating a warm and nurturing environment where her grandchildren felt valued and cherished. Her compassionate heart, adventurous soul, and unwavering commitment to those she loved shall remain etched in our memories.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Waldren, Sr. on February 4, 2002, and her brother, Marvin Hutchins. Sylvia is survived by her son, Richard Waldren, Jr. and daughter, Carolyn (Doug) Eberle; grandchildren, Jessica and Nathan Eberle; brother, Charles (Marilyn) Hutchins; sister; Gertie Bella; and special friends, Harriett, Jackie, Heather and Amatul. Her family would like to thank the staff at Wooded Glen for their kindness and compassionate care, with a special thank you to Tara Koyl and Michelle Reynolds. 

In honor of her love for traveling, Sylvia will rest eternally in one of her favorite places, Hawaii. Her cremation has been entrusted to Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center.
