Susan Jean Johnson

JOHNSON, Susan Jane age 91 of Yellow Springs, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. She was born on October 30, 1929 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Nelson and Dorothy (Beal) Schradin. In addition to her parents, Susan is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 67 years, Carl Johnson who passed last year. She leaves behind her two sons: Dr. John William (Deborah) Johnson and James Mark (Gary Wireman) Johnson; sister, Mary; and numerous nieces and nephews. Susan graduated with her Bachelor's Degree from Miami University in Home Economics where she then taught that subject at Miamisburg High School. While working in Miamisburg, she met her husband, Carl Johnson. They moved to Ada, Ohio where she worked as a teacher to help put Carl through Ohio Northern University's pharmacy program. She and Carl ran the pharmacy in Yellow Springs for many years before retiring and traveling the world together. Susan was an avid bridge player and loved tending to her garden where she grew her beautiful pansies. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Glen Forest Cemetery beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Doug Forsythe officiating.
