Sandra “Sandy” Mae Lapp, age 89 of Springfield, Ohio passed away October 13, 2024. She was born January 29, 1935 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Donald and Phyllis (Seaman) Cooke. Sandy is survived by her loving children, Randy (Kim) Lapp, Sheri (Brian) Nixon, and Staci (Mark) Fulk, grandchildren, Lynzy, Sarah, Justin, Jethro, Brandi, Josh, Zach, Parker, and Maddi, numerous great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, sisters, Brenda (Bill) Kirkham and Diane (Rick) White, one niece, several nephews, a cousin and their families, and special friend, Julia Littell. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rudy Lapp, son, Rick Lapp, and special Uncle Ricardo “CuCu” Rivera.
Sandy was a 1952 graduate of Springfield South High School. In her career, Sandy made significant contributions as a legal secretary and held positions that included working at a local newspaper and serving for the county prosecutor. Her personality was as vibrant as her career. Known for her sassy humor and infectious laughter, she brought joy to those around her. She loved hosting family events, where laughter and love filled the air. One of her favorite rituals was enjoying a glass of wine with her girls, sharing moments that forged lifelong memories. In addition to her professional life, Sandy had a passion for crafting. She dedicated countless hours to creating beautiful Afghans and was proud to showcase her work at local craft shows, where her creativity shone brightly. Sandy and Rudy lived in Florida for 20 years. They loved the beach and the memories they made with their friends there. Overall, Sandy’s family was the most important thing to her. She will be deeply missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 from 11:00-1:00 PM at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM, also at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.jacksonlytle.com.
