Ryan Douglas Oberly

OBERLY, Ryan Douglas age 32 of Springfield passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 3, 2022. He was born on February 16, 1990 in Springfield, Ohio the son of Douglas Oberly and Sandra (Kevin) Weber. In addition to his parents, Ryan is survived by his adoring wife, Amanda "Mandy" Young Oberly; children: Matthew Ryan Oberly, Skyler David Oberly, Faith Michelle Cole, and Dylan Ryan Cole; siblings: Kyle Sarven, Chelsea Weber Jenkins, and Kevin (Sarah) Weber Jr.; maternal grandmother Irene Salyers; paternal grandmother, Connie Oberly; aunts, Linda Monroe and Rhonda Reeves; cousins: Alyssia, Amanda, and Haliegh. Ryan also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Michelle (Bill) Young; sister-in-law, Amber Young; brother-in-law, Landon Hicks as well as many friends including his "work husband" and close friend, Greg Rydel. Ryan is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ray Salyers; paternal grandfather, Lonnie Oberly and his cousin, Cassie Monroe. Ryan was a talented welder earning his certification from Hobart Institute of Welding Technology and had been employed by American Steel Fabricators and NU Riser Stair Co. in Springfield. From a young child Ryan had a difficult road ahead of him; he was plagued with sickness and fought every day to not let it define him. He had an amazing work ethic and always wanted to be better than yesterday. He was a role model for fighting for the life he wanted through all his hardships. Ryan had a love of nature and animals. More than anything, Ryan loved spending time with his family and children. He will be truly missed as a son, husband, dad and friend. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center from 4:00-6:00 p.m. with a celebration of his life beginning at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation or Mental Health & Addiction services.
