Ruth-Ann Dent, 76, of Springfield, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2023, in the Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born June 2, 1946, in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Robert G. Hunter, Jr., and Vivian L. (Worthington) Hunter. Ruth-Ann was a faithful student of the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research, Springfield, Ohio, Branch where she served as an assistant choir director and soloist with the New Jerusalem Singers. She also served as vice president, president, and as a member of the board of directors for the Springfield, Ohio Bible Research Center, Inc—a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the Gospel. Affectionately known as "Ruthie”, she had been employed as an independent real estate agent, a teachers' assistant and librarian in the Springfield City School System, and as a salesperson at local businesses. Ruth-Ann is survived by her husband, Bradley H. Dent; two sisters, Rosemary (Oliver) Turner and Rita Marie Hunter; three daughters, Shana Danene (Edward Cooper) Jackson, Dana Ruth Jackson, and Kristie Lynn (Aaron) Howard); one son, Bradley L. (Amanda) Dent; eleven grandchildren, Craig Alan (Briana) Johnson, Brandon Michael Johnson Cassell, Danielle Nicole (Josh) Ackerman, Vernon Lamar Johnson, Dustin (Erinn) Jackson, Ashlee Jackson, India Jackson, Aaron Howard, Brooke Dent, Josie Marie Dent, and Cole Dent); seven great grandchildren, including an especially precious great grandchild, Ashlyn Ann Danene Jackson that Ruthie and her husband raised since infancy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and long-time friends. Ruth-Ann was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Roberta Jean Parsley; one daughter, Gina Lynn Johnson; and one grandson, Tyler Dent.
Visitation: Friday, March 17, 2023 from 11:00a.m.-1:00p.m. at funeral home. Funeral services: will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with Dr. Ronald Carr officiating.
