Russell D. Dooley

Russell D. Dooley, age 81, of Springfield, passed away January 4, 2025, peacefully in his home with his loving family by his side. Russell was born March 27, 1943, in Springfield, the son of the late Albert H. and Mary Jane (Jordan) Dooley. Russell was a co-owner with Robert Livingston of Roberts Furniture Company for 25 years. He also co-owned Kountry John Portable Restrooms with Herbert Dooley, Tom and Don Miller for almost 11 years. He retired from Willman’s Furniture after many dedicated years.

Russell is survived by his wife, Meredith (Burger) Dooley; his children, Melody (Bruce) Perry, Denise Ray, and Rusty (Morgan) Dooley; grandchildren, whom he loved dearly, Nicole Errett Johnson and Brian Errett, Matthew Ray and Makenzie Ray Brown, Arthur Weston and Lekeya WestonBias, Mylee and Mia Dooley, Travis and Jessica Clagg, Corey Ratliff, Heaven Brim and Braylon Brim; great-grandchildren, Danielle Mershon, Nova and Brock Johnson, Wyatt Ray Fleming, Arianna and Isabella Weston,Camaren, Christian and Curtis Bias, Eraliynn Enoch;brother, Herbert Dooley; sisters, Rosemary Pour, Birdie (Don) Miller, Diana (Tom) Miller and Donna Karen Smith; sister-in-law, Carol Dooley; numerous nieces and nephews; and his church family at Vale Rd. Church of Christ. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Carol Dooley who passed away in 2012; his son, Kevin Ray; brother, Melvin Dooley; sister-in-law, Linda Dooley; and brother-in-law, Russell Smith. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 4-7pm at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center where services will be held on Friday, January 10 at 11 a.m.His family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service with his nephew, Tim Dooley officiating. Burial to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his late wife, Carol. Russell asked in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Springfield Cancer Center, 148 W.
