If you knew Ron, you know he always had a goofy, loving, loyal, and caring heart. The thing Ron loved most was his beautiful wife, Ann. After 62 years together, rarely did you see them apart; they still flirted like teenagers, looked out for each other, fought for each other, and were a true genuine definition of what love is. Everyone looked up to them as a couple, and she will miss him very much. They lived a very happy life together, and I think everyone can say Ron lived a meaningful life to the fullest.
Ron loved the Lord and rarely missed church on Sundays for most of his life. He and his wife ran Rebecca’s House every weekend and filled the room with good food, good Christian bands, and good people. Ron worked at International Harvester for many years. He loved his pajama jeans and suspenders, Raisin Bran, and Grandma's cooking. He loved all of his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and cherished them when they walked through his front door. He always had a smile on his face every time. Ron, or as some would say “Papaw D” or "Grandpa Far Away", loved his family so much and always made sure they knew it. He appreciated the simple and little things in life. Everyone will miss Ron’s presence and big heart, his singing, his smile, his contagious laugh, and the way he said grace before every meal at family dinners.
With so many health scares over the years, Ron always pulled through each time we thought we were going to lose him. His strength would bring him back to us. So many times we were shocked and blessed with years and years of more time with him. Everyone is grateful for that. Ron lived a beautiful and long life. Now it’s his time to go be with the Lord and loved ones and be the best protective guardian angel that we’ve all ever had.
"Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day."

1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
