Robert Phillip Heaton, age 82, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at home on September 20, 2024 surrounded by his family. Born on November 13, 1941, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Ralph and Darline Heaton, Bob, affectionately known as “Homer” by his family, was a man who cherished conversation and was quick to turn strangers into lifelong friends.
Bob is survived by his sons, Shawn (Amy) Heaton and Christopher (Mandy) Heaton; his beloved grandchildren, Cortney Heaton, Dylan Heaton, Elias Heaton, and Kennedy Heaton; his sister, Verieda Ware and brother Ralph (Carolyn) Heaton Jr. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Heaton.
Bob had a deep passion for the retail business and customer service. His dedication to hard work and the value he placed on friendship will be remembered by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness and commitment to others will never be forgotten.
The family will receive friends from 5-8p.m on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center. Service will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 1p.m. also at the funeral home.
