Richard William Bunish

Richard Bunish, 57, of Springfield, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 24, 2020, in his home with his loving wife, three daughters, and father-in-law by his side. Richard fought a brave and valiant fight against cancer.

Richard genuinely enjoyed talking and sharing with people. He had a passion for cooking; he loved to make his homemade noodles and experiment with new crockpot recipes. Richard took great pride in landscaping his home, and could often be found on his zero turn meticulously mowing his grass until it was striped perfectly.

Richard was a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan, and would proudly wear a Cowboys hat to work everyday no matter how well they were doing. Being inspired by his youngest daughter Erica, Richard became a huge Pittsburgh Penguins fan, and loved attending hockey games with his family.

Richard loved his wife and three daughters, and he especially loved being a new grandfather, better known as “Pa Pa.” He took great pride in accomplishing a lifelong career of 34 years at Honda Manufacturing Company, attaining perfect attendance during all of those years. Richard formed many close friendships there.

Throughout the COVID pandemic, Richard enjoyed the online ministry of pastor and good friend Randy Nichols of Gospel Baptist Church.

Richard is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 36 years Cheryl; his daughter, Brande, son-in-law, Carl, and grandaughter, Ellie, of Columbus, OH; his daughter, Lindsey, of Chicago, IL; his daughter, Erica, of Springfield, OH; his brother, Terry, and wife, Keineth, of Glendale, AR, and their daughter, Mary Keineth; his sister, Kathy, and her husband, Glenn, of St. Joseph, MI, and their daughter, Kristen, and her husband, Justin.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents Paul and Louise.

All services will be held at Jackson, Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with Pastor Randy Nichols officiating.

Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 2pm-4pm.

There will be an online livestream viewing of the funeral available for family and friends on the Jackson, Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center facebook page. Please note, you will not be able to connect to the livestream until the funeral service begins on Monday, August 31, at 2:30pm.

Interment to follow private funeral service at Ferncliff Cemetery and Arboretum.
