Richard Lee Woods

Richard Lee Woods, 63, of South Charleston, Ohio passed away peacefully on March 11th, 2022. He was born on March 7th, 1959 in Canal Winchester.

He is survived by his father Richard E. Woods and his mother Nancy J. Woods; his loving wife Julia A. Woods; his sister Teri Schwartz (Michael), sister Kelly Woods, and brother K.C. Woods; his three sons A.J. Woods (Ashley), Aaron Woods (Lindsey) and Bradley Woods; his grandchildren Audrey, Camden, Abigail, Keegan and soon to be here Kyler; and several nieces and nephews.

Rick was a prominent educator, coach and mentor at Southeastern Local School District and Cedar Cliff Local Schools. He is a member of the Miami Valley Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame (2007) and the Springfield/Clark County Baseball Hall of Fame (2009); in 2002 he was named the Springfield News-Sun All-Area Baseball Coach of the Year. He loved working in his yard and rooting for his Michigan Wolverines. Rick was a loving husband, father, papaw and friend to all.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, South Charleston. A celebration of his life will follow on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 also at the church with Pastor Aaron White officiating. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorial contributions to be made to the Southeastern Athletic Department. Condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.jacksonlytle.com.
