Richard Pern Blauvelt

Richard Pern Blauvelt, age 87 of Springfield, Ohio passed away November 2, 2023 in Yellow Springs, Ohio. He was born March 5, 1936 in Springfield, Ohio, son of the late Karl and H. Estylene (Rafferty) Blauvelt. Richard is survived by his sons, Michael Blauvelt and William (Jennifer) Blauvelt, daughter-in-law, Heather, grandchildren, Michael, Paige, Jonah, Dawson, Landen, and Reese, great-grandchildren, Aiden and Makenna, and sisters, Marlene, Joyce, and Connie. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Richard Blauvelt, and brother, Karl Blauvelt. Richard worked for the United States Postal Service for over 25 years until his eventual retirement. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, and was an avid Cincinnati Reds Baseball fan. 

Family and friends will be received on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 11:00-12:00 p.m. at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, Springfield. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Dick will be laid to rest at Somerford Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Friends Care Community in Yellow Springs.
