Rebecca A. Mercer, 73, of Springfield, passed away in her home on Friday, November 18, 2022. She was born on February 26, 1949, in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of the late Herbert Sr. and Anna (Williams) Orndorff. Rebecca is survived by her daughters, Melisa (Joe) Sears and Joey (Dale) Howard; grandchildren, Tasha (Zebadiah) Short, Robert (Lesley) Tofson, Mickenzie Gray, Shelby Buck, Wyatt Buck, Kristy (Mark) Curtis and Amanda (Andy) Bowers; several great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert L. Orndorff, Jr.; sister, Diana (Ronald) Bixler; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gary Mercer; sister-in-law, Terry Orndorff; and beloved companion, Abby her pug dog of many years. Becky worked at WPAFB as an administrative secretary for many years before working at Key Bank, formerly Society Bank for 18 years. She retired from Beach Manufacturing in quality control management. She loved playing bingo and doing word searches, but her all time happy place was going to the beach in Florida.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 from 10a.m.-12p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with service beginning at 12p.m. Entombment to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. Condolences may be expressed to her family by visiting www.jacksonlytle.com.
