Ralph E. Welton

Ralph Elarey Welton, 75, of Yellow Springs, passed away on 2-17-24 after battling Stage 4 esophageal cancer. He was born on Staten Island to Sydney and Elizabeth Welton and grew up on Lighthouse Hill. He graduated from Antioch College with a major in Education. For 35 years, Ralph taught grades 1-4 at Cox Elementary School in Xenia. He loved his students, gardening, bird-watching, rock-climbing, rooting for the Bengals, and studying duplicate bridge, chess, and the game of Go. Ralph is survived by his beloved wife Michele, sons Jesse and Caleb Welton, sister Nancy Leue, and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, and several loved pets.
