Phillip A. Hoffman, 74, Springfield, OH, died Tuesday, August 1, 2023 after a brief illness.
Born November 9, 1948, he was the son of Paul and Elizabeth (Kneisley) Hoffman. He is survived by his brother, Scott (Jayne) Hoffman, La Paz, BCS, MX, his son, Kevin (Shannon) Hoffman, Roswell, GA, his daughter Amie Hoffman, Nashua, NH, a granddaughter, Kaylie Robinson, Las Vegas, NV, his good friend Cheryl Stanchak, Springfield, PA, and a multitude of other dear friends and brethren.
Phil was a graduate of Springfield North High School and Ohio University and had served in the U.S. Army 10 years and was awarded the Soldier’s Medal. He was a 32 degree KCCH Scottish Rite Mason and had memberships to multiple Masonic Organizations in both Ohio and Georgia. He was the current Worshipful Master of New Carlisle Lodge No. 100, served as Secretary of both the Morning Star Lodge No. 795 and the York Rite, and Associate Patron for Home City Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. He was Past Master at Mount Hermon Lodge No. 304, Columbus, GA.
Family and friends will be received on Friday, August 11, 2023 from 11:00-12:00 p.m. at the Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center, 2425 N. Limestone St. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. with Masonic and Order of the Eastern Star Services. Burial to follow at Ferncliff Cemetery, 501 W. McCreight Ave, where military honors will be rendered. There will be a fellowship gathering at the Masonic Home Clubhouse immediately following the graveside services.
