Paul D. Elliott, age 77, passed away on December 10, 2022 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 22, 1945, in Gallipolis, Ohio, the son of the late Claude and Ann Edith (Morgan) Elliott.
After graduation, Paul enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. During this time he served as a mechanic but also risked his life everyday being a tunnel rat, scoping out, clearing and destroying enemy tunnel complexes. Paul was shot in Vietnam and received a Purple Heart for his courageous service.
Following his 4 year service to his country, Paul became a dad to his 2 beautiful daughters, Tonia and Cameo. They were the light of his life, and he did the best he could to show them the love they needed and raise them as a single dad. When the girls were young, he met Robin Davies and they married on May 13, 1989. He continued his trade as a mechanic his entire life working in Springfield and you could find him at the VFW 1031, the Machinist Club or at the Union Club in his downtime. Paul was an avid motorcyclist and loved jumping on his Harley and relaxing while he cruised.
Over the years, Paul and Robin gained many devoted and loving friends. They travelled to Myrtle Beach together, went to dinners frequently and just enjoyed hanging out with each other. The thing was, most of these friends were women and being he was surrounded by them all the time, they lovingly gave him the nickname “Pimp Daddy”. These special lady friends are Terri Kaffenbarger, Linda Duncan, Tina Jones and the inside joke, his “part time girlfriend”, Dana Kibler. He also enjoyed his special guy time with close friends, Ron Kibler, Greg Long, P.D. Hawkins and Ron Neff. One thing was for sure with Paul, he was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa and friend who adored his family, loved his pug dogs and always had a smile on his face.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Link Todd Elliott and brothers, John Elliott and John Winkler.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Robin Davies-Elliott; daughters, Tonia (Carl) Tyree and Cameo Farr; grandchildren, Jade Tyree, Elliott Farr and Anndreya Farr; brother, Bill Elliott; brother-in-law, Edward Davies; sister-in-law, Rhody Davies; and numerous nieces, nephews and other friends.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 12-4p.m. at the VFW Post 1031. Military honors will begin at 12:30p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, 2410 Mechanicsburg Rd. Springfield, OH 45503.
