Patti L. Wilson, a devoted member of the South Charleston community, passed away on January 25, 2024, at her home where she had resided for over 30 years. She was born on December 15, 1942, in Ashland, Kentucky, the daughter of the late John and Sereda (Sturgil) Dean. In addition to her parents, she was reunited in Heaven with her late husband, Carl Wilson, who was truly the love of her life and her siblings, JB Dean, Viola Hall and Mary Shook.
Patti is survived by her children, Kyle (Lori) Wilson and Velvet (Kevin) Chambers-King, as well as her grandchildren Jerry Deere, CJ Wilson, Derrick Wilson, Matt Wilson, Andrew (Ashlee) Wilson, Titus Wilson, John Chambers, Patrick Chambers, and Sereda Chambers. Additionally, she is survived by her great-grandchildren, Carly Jo, Payton, Tanner, Aubrianna, June, and Grayson Wilson; and several extended family members.
Patti had a vibrant and loving personality that drew people towards her. She deeply adored her grandchildren and constantly showered them with love and affection. They brought immeasurable joy to her life. Her family meant the world to her, and they will forever cherish the memories they created together.
Patti's career was centered around serving others. After graduating from Northeastern class of 1960 and obtaining her bachelors and master’s in nursing from Clark State Technical School, she dedicated 35 years of service to Madison County Hospital. Her commitment to the community was remarkable and touched the lives of many.
Known for her classy elegance, Patti was always on point with her sense of fashion. Her personality shone through in every aspect of her life; she was a devoted Christian who found solace in her faith and cherished the fellowship of her church family at First Presbyterian Church where she had been a cherished member for over 40 years.
Services to honor Patti's life will be held on January 29, 2024, at the First Presbyterian Church in South Charleston. The visitation will take place from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 PM. Patti will be laid to rest in the South Vienna Cemetery following the service.
