Patricia “Pat” Royer, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019. She is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl Clayborn-Winget of Springfield (son-in-law James Winget), and Kathy Royer of Centerville. She leaves five grandchildren: Adam Clayborn of Dayton, Christina Clayborn-Giles of Augusta, GA, Matthew Hahn of Springboro, Joshua Hahn of Centerville, and Maura Chong of Xenia. Her three great-grandchildren are Cullen Clayborn-Giles, Micah Hahn, and Livi Clayborn-Giles. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Mary Weimer and her nieces, Kristan Horgan of Kansas and Katie Marzec of Evansville, IN. Their children, her great nieces and nephews are: Quinn, Jude, and Layla Horgan of Kansas, and Eliana, Kyra, and Hailey Marzec of Evansville, IN. She adored them all. She was preceded in death by her brother, Walter (Wally) Weimer in 2016, and by her husband John C. Royer in 1997. Pat worked in the Northeastern School District for thirty years, serving as Secretary at Westside School and at Rolling Hills as a teacher’s assistant. She was an active and devoted member of First Lutheran Church for over 70 years, serving on the Altar Guild for many years, and helping with the prayer list and the infant roster. She also enjoyed her Circle meetings where she made many dear friends. There will be a private viewing for the family. Those wishing to celebrate Pat Royer’s life are invited to join us at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 12 at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center at 2425 North Limestone Street, Springfield.
