Patricia Kerns

Patricia “Patty” Lou (Bridgett) Kerns, 85, passed away July 21, 2023 in Fairborn, Ohio. She was born March 26, 1938 in Fairborn, Ohio to the late James and Martha (Miller) Bridgett. Patty is survived by her siblings, James (Peggy) Bridgett, Judith Harrison, Richard Bridgett, Donna Current, Sandra Bridgett, and Kathy (Jerry) Hatfield, sister-in-law, Vicky Bridgett, and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Roger “Jack” Bridgett, Scott Bridgett, and Rebecca Bridgett, sister-in-law, Joyce Bridgett, and brothers-in-law, Johnny Harrison and Carl Current. 

Patty spent her younger years waitressing in Yellow Springs at the 68 Grill, Dick and Tom’s, and the Glen Cafeteria. She later retired from Orbis Manufacturing in Urbana after over 30 years of service. Patty enjoyed country, gospel, and oldies music. She also liked to dance and take pictures. Patty loved her family. Family picnics and cookouts were some of her favorite things, along with vacationing with her siblings. Patty was the life of the party. She had the best sense of humor and was always full of one liners. She was just a fun person to be around. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. 

Family and friends will be received on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Jackson Lytle and Lewis Funeral Home, Yellow Springs. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Reverend Bryan Graham. Burial to follow at Byron Cemetery.
