Omer W. Schrader, 96, of Springfield passed away on January 19, 2021. He was born on January 5, 1925, in Pike County, son of the late John and Emma Schrader. Omer graduated from Stockdale High School in 1943. He was drafted in WWII and served in the European Theatre of War with the 9th Army Air Force receiving ribbons and battle stars with the 404 Fighter Group. He was a Springfield Police Officer and a Deputy Sheriff with combined service of 55 years.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister and his beloved wife, Janice (Hohn).
Omer is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Lynn); daughter, Sue Webb; five grandchildren, Ryan, Tyler and Kyle Schrader, Travis Webb and Jamie Coblentz; and two great-granddaughters, Adelynn Schrader and Alice Coblentz.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 1-2 p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with service to begin at 2p.m. Burial will be at St. Bernard Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to his family by visiting www.jacksonlytle.com.
