Michael Lee Parks

Michael L. Parks, 70 of Springfield passed away peacefully at home on January 20, 2023. He was born on April 5, 1952, the son of Donald and Patricia Parks.

Mike aka “Papa” loved being a grandpa and watching his grandsons play sports and show their fair pigs, spending time with his buddies at Bogey’s and throwing the ball to his devoted 4-legged companion, Smooter. He was a skilled electrician for over 3 decades and lived and worked in Alaska for 20+ years. He loved running sled dogs in his 30’s and 40’s and made numerous life-long friends in the 49th state that he held dear. Mike was also a diehard Buckeyes, Bengals and Reds fan.

He was reunited in heaven with his parents, Don and Pat; aunt, Barbara Lou Johnson; uncles, George and Marvin Parks and dear friends: Jeff Clouse, Doug Wilt, Glenn Thompson and Joe Ervin.

He is survived by his daughter, Mariah (Chris Dinnen) Parks; brothers, Larry and Peter (Kris) Parks; grandsons, Wyatt and Reese Dinnen; aunt, Mertie Parks; nieces, Ashley and Lauren Parks and the many, many friends that he made over the 70 years of his life.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 pm Friday, February 3, 2023 at Jackson, Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center. A joint celebration of Mike and Joe Ervin’s lives will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mike’s memory to the Greenon Athletic Department (payable to Greenon High School, 510 Enon-Xenia Road, Springfield, Ohio 45323, ‘Athletic Department-Michael Parks’ to be included on memo line) and the Clark County 4-H Endowment Fund (payable to Clark County 4-H Committee, P.O. Box 444, Springfield, Ohio 45501).
