Melanie Gene Mowad

Melanie Gene Mowad, 51, passed away surrounded by her family, in Springfield, Ohio on August 11, 2020.
She is survived by her loving husband John, daughter Abbey, son Michael, and her extended family.
Melanie was born June 5th, 1969 in Little Rock, Arkansas. As the daughter of a military family, she lived in Hawaii, Japan, California, Arizona, and Virginia over the course of her early life.
In 1992, she met the love of her life, John Mowad, while working in Crystal City, Virginia. The couple eloped and were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 14th, 1995. Melanie and John started their married life in Fremont, California. They later relocated to Phoenix, Arizona in 1996, where both their children were later born.
In 2005, John’s career brought them to Ohio. The family purchased a home in Springfield and have lived there ever since.
Melanie was a devoted wife, mother, and daughter. She enhanced the lives of everyone she met.
Private services will be held for Melanie, with a celebration of life to be scheduled at a later date.
