Mary Elizabeth (Schneider) Keplinger, 91, of Springfield, passed away after suffering a stroke at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born on March 9, 1933, to George and Eunice Schneider. Mary went to work after high school and retired from tax accounting at the age of 86. She raised her children on the Keplinger family farm and worked hard to support her husband, with whom she is now reunited in Heaven. Mary was a voracious reader and was known to stay up all night to finish a book. Everyone who knew her and loved her will remember her love for the Lord, along with her wit, intelligence, and candor. Mary is survived by her three children: Sara (Mark) Hoewischer of Mechanicsburg, James (Elaine) Keplinger of Springfield, and Rachael (Ed) Geers of Goshen, KY; her grandchildren: Shelly Starkey, Jaimes Hoewischer, Christy Eckstein, Miranda Dibert, Seth Keplinger, Holly Horan, Meredith Grace, and Tyler Geers; and her great-grandchildren: Ethan and Heath Starkey, Kadey Berry, Gus, Max, Kenze, and Sam Hoewischer, Addison and Avery Eckstein, Lydia Dibert, Eli, Clara, and Clinton Keplinger, Grace and Luke Horan, Colton and Anna Grace, and Lincoln, Emerson, and Carter Geers. She also had two great-great-grandsons, Carter and Kiptin Berry, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law: Gerald (Mildred) Baird and Ronald (Mary L.) Keplinger; her sister-in-law, Dorothy (Dick) Cheek; and her sisters, Martha (Cameron) Love, Katherine Wagner, and her brother, James Hannebaum. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10am-12pm at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with service beginning at 12pm. Pastor Kevin Moehn will be officiating. She will be laid to rest at Vale Cemetery.
