WALKER, Mary Eloise (Minnick) born on November 19, 1940 passed away beautifully surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, February 1, 2020, following a brief illness. She was a 1958 graduate of Southeastern High School, a 1985 graduate of Clark State Community College, and a long-time member of the South Charleston United Methodist Church. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Paul F. and Eleanore J. Minnick, her husband, Tim Walker, her brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Nola Minnick, and her long-time companion, Oscar Glass. She is survived by her children, Joanie (Don) Veri and David Walker; grandchildren, Camille, Gabrielle, and Cole Veri; sisters, Peggy (Doug) Bailey and Gwen (Rick) Bush; several nieces and nephews including Jenny (Minnick) McNeil whose compassionate heart and kindness were an immense gift to Mary and all of the family; and many neighbors and friends she met along her journey. Mary was an incredible baker and will be remembered fondly for the beautiful trays of Christmas cookies she baked over the years for her family and for her many neighbors along South Charleston Pike. She was an animal lover, adviser for many years to the Walker's Wiseguys 4-H club, and a leader of Brownie Troop 801. Mary always found great joy in connecting with lifelong friends through the annual Southeastern Alumni Banquet and through organizing many class reunions for her beloved Class of 1958. Mary had a strong and unwavering faith and her unquestioning belief is a great comfort to her family. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer memorial contributions be made to South Charleston United Methodist Church.
