Mark Wayne Rice, 70, of Springfield, passed away at his home on Friday, August 6, 2021. He was born on August 15, 1950, in Springfield, the son of the late Walter and Phoebe (Golff) Rice. IN addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Dillow and brother-in-law, Glenn Bostick. He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Cynthia (Warman) Rice; son, William (Kelly) Rice; grandchildren, Michaela Frew, Mackenzie Rice and Makiah Frew-Rice; great-granddaughter, Ivy Craig; brothers, Larry Rice and Rick (Janie) Rice; sister, Drucilla Bostick; brother-in-law, William Dillow; friend, Carolyn Rice; and numerous other brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Mark loved to hunt and fish and was a talented artist who enjoyed painting landscapes, especially covered bridges. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 11:00a.m.-11:30a.m. at the Rose Hill Burial Park Chapel. Service will begin at 11:30a.m. with Norman Claypool officiating. Arrangements in care of Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center.
