Bowsher, Mariel Ann age 80 went home to be with the Lord on August 14, 2019. She was born on October 22, 1938 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Lawrence and Audrey Bradley. In addition to her parents, Mariel is preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Jerry Bowsher, and a brother, Richard Michael Bradley. She is survived by her brother, Gregory (Lindy) Bradley of Springfield, Ohio; her three children: Terry (Kristi) Bowsher of Urbana, Ohio, Tammy Bowsher and Nikki (Kevin) Crist both of Midwest City, Oklahoma; Grandchildren: Kyle Crist of Midwest City, Oklahoma and Jeremiah Hathaway of Enon, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Mariel was a telephone operator for Ohio Bell, Ameritech and AT&T for 35 years. She was a long time member of Hillside Avenue Church of God in Springfield. She had a passion for missionary work and took mission trips to Guatemala, Africa and Australia. She also took a short mission assignment at Wounded Knee Indian Reservation in South Dakota. She loved to travel and took two trips to Okinawa and three trips to Japan while her son-in-law, Kevin, and daughter, Nikki, were stationed overseas. She was a voracious reader and faithfully read her bible. She enjoyed coloring in adult coloring books and working crosswords. She loved spending time with her grandson, Kyle, and her “granddog”, Whiskey. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23 from 5-7pm at Jackson Lyle & Lewis. The funeral service will be Saturday, August 24 at 10am. Mariel will be laid to rest at Fletcher Chapel Cemetery.
