Linda Mae (Hock) Unger, 77, died on Monday, May 1, 2023 in South Vienna, Ohio after a lengthy illness. She was born on February 6, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Robert and Alice Hock. She graduated high school in 1964 and worked many various jobs during her career including, prep cook for 15 years in the Central Kitchen at Milford City Schools, Milford, Ohio, and greenhouse operations in Newark, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a twin brother at birth, and two sisters, Mary Dameron and Alice Monhollen of Cincinnati, Ohio. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Charles Michael Unger, two brothers, Bill (Mary) Hock, Cincinnati, Ohio and David (Deb) Hock, Batavia, Ohio, son, Mike (Cindy) Sroufe, Austin, Texas, and daughter, Linda (Keith) Bowman, Cincinnati, Ohio. She is also survived by two step-sons, Gregg (Roxanna) Unger, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Jeremy (Erica) Unger of Fort Worth, Texas, four grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
Linda loved her family and friends, and was loved equally by them, but most of all, she loved and served her precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ through her final days. She loved sewing and crafting, and creating loving handcrafted, one-of-a-kind gifts for the most special people in her life. She will be kindly remembered and greatly missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the Ingling Williams and Lewis Funeral Home, South Charleston.
