Leondas Spradlin, 80, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on Saturday, October 2, 2021. He was born on April 24, 1941, in Paintsville, Kentucky, the son of the late Crate and Bessie (Blair) Spradlin.
Leon is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy, second wife, Doris and sisters, Gigi, Betty, Reba.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Tammy (Jim) Chapman, Missy (Tim) McBlane, Tracie (Rob) Bostick, Mindy Jacks (Ty Harper) and Cristin (Travis) Sears; grandchildren, Jimmy (Danielle) Chapman, Sara Chapman, Zachary McBlane, Caleb (Brianna) Bostick, Tyler (Ceasyn) Bostick, Troy (Preslee) Clay, Megan Clay, Hunter Jacks, Hayvyn Harper, Taygyn Harper, Austin (Bella) Sears and Cody (Denver) Hatter; great-grandchildren, Destinie, Cameron, Hannah, Kyler, Karlee, Payton, Crew, Maverick and Ensley; brother-in-law, Elmer Pennington; best friend and brother-in-law, Ed Elliott; special 4-legged buddy and companion, Ben Ben; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Leon was a proud veteran serving in the United States Navy. He retired from Pepsi after over 20 years and then went on to retire from Honda after an additional 20 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, going to the casinos and loved family gatherings. You could always find him attending one of his grandkids sporting events and was always the proud grandpa cheering them on. He was a very giving person and those who knew him, knew his life revolved around his 5 daughters whom he dearly loved.
Leon’s family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Springfield Cardiology, Ohio Valley Hospice and Mercy Home Health Care for the exceptional care and compassion they provided.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 4-6p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with service beginning at 6p.m. Pastor Marty Dennis will be officiating.
