Larry Patton was born on October 22nd, 1939, in Springfield, Ohio. During his 80 years, Larry was an industrious father and husband. He and his wife, Susan J. O’Neal, married in January of 1961, celebrating over 58 years of marriage. He served in the Ohio Air National Guard during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was one of few men who had a high enough security clearance to load weapons onto aircraft, an honor he was proud of. He worked at Navistar (International Harvester) for over 30 years, and was a member of the UAW Local 402. Larry also worked in construction, with the development of Aberfelda Hills being one of his grandest accomplishments. Outside of work and family, his passions were hunting and fishing tournaments, watching football, diligently attending his grandchildren’s sports practices, games, and events, but most of all, he loved restoring antique cars. Larry passed away on October 22nd, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doris and Robert J. Patton, his son, Jon B. Patton, and a great grandson, Landon Burgert. Larry was survived his wife, Susan, his daughter, Cheryl Burgert and her husband, Charles, his brother, Robert Patton, grandchildren Julie Rogan, Dustin (Paige L.), Bryan (Caitlin G.) and Devyn Burgert (Ashton B.), Paige and her husband, Ryan Schumaker, as well as great-grandchildren, Mikayla, Aidan, Chase, Kanon, Alanna, Gavin, and Andrew Burgert, Dane Schumaker, Landon O., Brady and Calliana Gibson.
