SHARP, Kenneth Dean (Weiner), age 80 of Springfield, Ohio passed away at his home on Sunday, September 8, 2024. He was born on August 8, 1944 to the late Charles and Daisy (Miller) Sharp in Springfield, Ohio. In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Sharp and half brother, Jim Estep. He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Betty Sharp; children: Greg Sharp, Vicki Sharp and Mike (Lori) Sharp; grandchildren: Kyle, Paige, and Sebastian and great-grandchildren: Clayton, Mya, Sophia, Ellis, Bronwynn, Liam and Rowan. Dean is also survived by his half siblings: Connie (Carl) Adkins, Edd (Carrie) Sharp, and Kelly Sharp; sister-in-law, Sharon Sharp as well as numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Ashley Kinsler. Dean was twice retired, the first after 30 years at Kelsey-Hayes Company, Speco Division and again from Springfield City School District. He enjoyed coaching his sons and other youth in little league baseball and helped open Prosser Field in Springfield. Dean was also a NASCAR fan. A visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with his funeral to follow at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Kevin Moehn officiating. Dean will be laid to rest at Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Dean's honor.
