Karen V. Ison

ISON, Karen V. age 78 of Springfield passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born on October 12, 1945 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Jacob E. and Jean I. (Wilson) Bauser. In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her life partner Homer McKee and a sister, Betty Bauser. She leaves behind her two daughters, Jenny Dubie and Tina Kelly; a brother, John Bauser; a sister, Sylvia Gochenouer; grandchildren, Annette "Martha" (Josh Runyan) Dubie and James (Hillary Becker) Shaw; great-grandchildren: Byanca Dubie, Jordy Runyan, Scarlett Shaw, and Charlotte Shaw. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews as well as all of her friends at the DAV Chapter 13, where she was lovingly referred to as the "Bar Maid from Hell." She was never one to shy away from telling you exactly what was on her mind and enjoyed crocheting blankets in her free time.
