Judith Gale (Johnson) Metz, age 83 of Springfield, Ohio passed away peacefully April 4, 2024 at
Oakwood Village. She was born July 1, 1940 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Galen and Nellie
Jean (Kadel) Johnson. Judith is survived by her children, Gregory A. Metz and Tracy Lynne
(Thomas) Marshall, grandchildren, Mallory (Joseph), Benjamin (Paysha), Zachary (Amber), and
Nathan, and great-grandchildren, Hannah, Bradley, Hadley, Adalyn, Piper, Emma, Coleson,
Jaylee, Kolt, Laykin, and Stevee. Along with her parents, she is reunited in Glory with her loving
husband, Roger Metz, and brothers, Jerry and Robert.
Judith was a longtime member of First Christian Church. She graduated from Clark State with
her Bachelor’s in Nursing. For many years she spent time working as a nurse, spending time at
the Sterling House in Senior Care. Judith was always taking care of others, even when it came
to her late mother and husband. She loved her family dearly and always put them first. Judith
enjoyed traveling with the family and taking cruises. She will be deeply missed by all who knew
and loved her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Oakwood
Village and Ohio Valley Hospice for their dedicated support and care for Judith.
