BLANTON, Joy R. age 82 of Springfield passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, August 5, 2019. She was born on July 15, 1937 to the late Garfield and Thelma (Dutton) Parker in River, Kentucky. In addition to her parents, Joy is preceded in death by her son, Charles A. Blanton and her siblings, Landon Parker, Jimmy Parker, Phyllis Maynard, and Shirlie Falke. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of nearly 63 years, Donald R. Blanton; son, Richard R. (Sharon) Blanton; daughter, Kathy Runyan; grandchildren: Donald (Tara) Blanton, Samantha Blanton, Elizabeth Barber, Kimberly (Chris) Briggs, Devan (Ben) West, and Nicholas (Candice Forsythe) Runyan; great-grandchildren: Reed, Viktor, Connor,Hannah, Kyleigh,Caleb,Gabriel, Sydney, Cayla, Kane, Colbie, and Cooper. Joy is also survived by her siblings: George (Mariann) Parker, Gene (Lola) Parker, and Ethel Fraley along with her amazing nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins . Joy was a member of the Daughters of Rebekah and attended Pitchin United Methodist Church. She enjoyed decorating cakes and was a 4-H Sewing advisor. She was like a mom to everyone and loved spending time with her family. A visitation will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Pitchin Community Church 5566 Selma Pike, Springfield, Ohio with her service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jacob Cultice officiating. Burial to follow at Garlough Cemetery. Following burial lunch will be provided at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Pitchin Community Church.
