Josephine Esposito, age 92 of Springfield, peacefully left this earthly home for a heavenly home on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Forest Glen health campus. Josephine was born on February 25, 1930 in Naples, Italy to the late Joseph and Ida (Scaramuzzo) Cutolo. Relying on her deep faith, Josephine adapted to each new change and event that would encompass her 92 years. Growing up during WWII, she helped care for three siblings after her father died. After the war, Josephine worked in a clothing store. It was while working there that she met the love of her life, Vincent Esposito. She and Vincent married on September 21, 1952. After losing an infant son, another son was born in October 1954 and the family immigrated to the United States, arriving in April 1955. The family made their home in Brooklyn, New York and another son was born in 1959. While Vincent worked as a furniture maker Josephine made a home for her family and spent those years lovingly caring for them and for extended family that also settled in Brooklyn. She was a gentle soul who loved her family and befriended everyone she met. She was extremely charitable, always willing to help others. Shortly after Vincent’s death in 2007, Josephine moved to New Jersey and enjoyed the time she spent there with her youngest son and his family. In 2014, she then moved to Springfield and enjoyed the time spent there with her oldest son and his family. Josephine was a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved cooking for them and celebrating all of the moments in their lives. She will be missed. Josephine is also preceded in death by her sisters, Nina Palomby and Nietta Centofanti. She leaves behind to continue her legacy, sons: Joe (Brenda) Esposito and Frank (Laurie) Esposito; grandchildren: Ryan Esposito, Nathan (Chelsea) Esposito, Daniel (Sthefany) Esposito, Gabriela Esposito, Steven (fiancé Jennifer) Esposito and Ally (Michael) Larson; great grandchildren: Austin, Miriam, Isabel, Claire and Emily; great-great grandson, Houston as well as her brother, Franco (Rosetta) Cutolo. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Forest Glen for the love and care they gave to her while she resided there. The family would also like to thank all of the special people that visited and spent time with her. A gathering of family and friends will be held on November 18, 2022 from 5-7 PM with a brief memorial service at 7 PM at Jackson, Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center. Memorial contributions in Josephine’s honor may be made to Ohio’s Hospice or The Trilogy Foundation, https://thetrilogyfoundation.org/donations/
