Joseph M. Bowsman

November 30, 1952 — June 2, 2020

Joseph M. Bowsman (b. 11/30/1952) passed away Jun 2, 2020. Joe is survived by his sons Chris (Mandy) and Andy (Timoree), grandchildren Eli, Caleb, Daniel, and Addy, girlfriend Patty, and legions of bandmates, fishing buddies, and friends across the state.

Joe was a loving father, grandfather, and friend to nearly everyone he encountered. Aside from his family, Joe’s main focus in life was music. He played, listened, learned, taught, and performed at every available opportunity. He’d jokingly say, “You can never be spread too thin.” Joe most loved playing the mandolin and singing, but he never met a musical instrument he didn’t try to master. He also played guitar, banjo, fiddle, dobro, the penny whistle, bass, flute, clarinet, and recorder. Joe’s other primary passion was fly fishing and tying, but never content to sit still, he was an avid reader, loved wood working, drawing, gardening, camping, hiking, and collecting myriad of odds and ends.
