John “Jack” (Charles) Sheppard, age 81 of South Charleston passed away April 2, 2024 in Springfield, Ohio. He was born May 30, 1942 in Marysville, Ohio to the late Charles Clinton and Maxine (Sulcebarger) Sheppard. Jack is survived by his loving wife of over 45 years, Marilyn (Severt) Sheppard, children: Charles Christopher and Leann Sheppard, David (Arlene) Morrow, Susan Morrow, and Melissa (Michael) Helton, grandchildren: Kristen, John, Rebecca, Sarah, Lauren Jaclyn, Meg, Meredith, Caroline, Nelson, Eliza Grace, Hunter, and Rian, great-grandchildren: Addison, Nadia, Emmeline, Torin, Breille, Brennon, Bellamy, Beckham, Aaden, Maddox, Lola Joy, and Rowan, sister, Anne, and many nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Max.
Jack was an owner/operator truck driver, owner/operator of the Sheppard’s Inn in Washington Court House, and Jack’s in Jeffersonville. He also spent time as a Deputy Sheriff in Fayette County. In his free time, Jack enjoyed boats, traveling, corvettes, and racing. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Jack will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.
