JoAnn (Neal) Cleelan, 78, formerly of Springfield, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 2, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 14, 1943, in Cable, Ohio, the daughter of the late George and Florence (Maddox) Neal.
JoAnn is preceded in death by her husband, Rodney Cleelan; daughter, Sandy Hankins; siblings, Nancy Bach, John Neal and Sally Massie; son-in-law, David Pritt; and sister-in-law, Sylvia Neal.
She is survived by her children, Pam Pritt, James (Dana) Staccia and Ricky Staccia (Amber Staccia); grandchildren, Tony (Erin) Allen, Sasha (Josh) Foster, Ashley (Tyler) Otstot, Amanda Brennan, Mark Hankins, Jr., Kasey Brennan, WIlliam (Nikki) Cockrell, Jr., and Dustin Miller; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Colton, Rico, Sophia, Wyatt, Mackenzie, Jamie, Aiden, Savannah, Amelia, Selena, Aaron, Gunner, Michael, Haley, Layla and Angel; siblings, James Neal, Jerry (Janice) Neal, Harold Neal and Eva Kay; step-daughters, Shari, Lisa and Tammy; brothers-in-law, Jim Bach and Darrell Massie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
JoAnn had previously worked for Hugo-Bosca Leather and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles with her late husband. She loved dancing and travelling and she always had her country music playing, especially George Jones. She was a protective mother who always put her family first and always stepped up to take care of everyone in need. Her love for her family was extraordinary and shined through in all she did for them. Her beautiful smile and caring heart will be deeply missed by all.
