James Thomas Daugherty

James Thomas Daugherty, age 81 of South Solon, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May7, 2024. He was born May 5, 1943 in Springfield, Ohio, the son of the late Thomas James and Lyda (Elfrank) Daugherty.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of over 61 years, Dixie (Coe) Daugherty, sons, James Thomas Daugherty II, Terry Daugherty, and Chris (Lorie) Daugherty, daughter, Ann (Chris) Daugherty, grandchildren, Jason (Candace), Cassie, Kyle (Megan), Chad (Destiny), and Jerrad (Megan), great-grandchildren, Daizie Ann, Ava Michelle, Amelia Leann, and Kolin, brother, Fred “Paul” (Diane), and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son,Tony Daugherty, and sister, Mary Ann Falconi.

Throughout the years, James was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering excellence in his field. While others took days off, Jim would be out looking for his next job. He owned and operated Daugherty Farm Drainage for many years, working alongside his son. When Jim wasn’t at work, he enjoyed watching old westerns and hot rod shows. Jim will be deeply missed by all his loving family and friends. Although he may no longer be with us in person, the memories of his kindness, strength, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
