Harold Richard King

KING, Harold R., age 88 passed away peacefully on Monday, December 9, 2019 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 28, 1931 to the late Harold D. and Edith (Hassler) King in Springfield. In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 40 years, Ruth (Ogg) King. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: Robert King, Patricia King and Deanna (Matthew) Snyder and grandchildren: Thomas King, Hannah Snyder and Jordan Snyder. Harold was a graduate of Northwestern High School and served his country in the United States Air National Guard. He retired after 35 dedicated years. Harold was a past member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and enjoyed being an amateur radio operator. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2019 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center with his funeral following on Monday, December 16 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Harold will be laid to rest by Ruth at Ferncliff Cemetery.
