Doris L. Rea

Doris L. (Tackett) Rea, 87, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023. She was born in a log cabin on May 12, 1936 in Sandy Hook, Elliott County, Kentucky. She was employed by Southeastern Local Schools as a teacher’s aide for 10 years and secretary for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Robin Rea; her mother, Pansy Kellough; her father, Zora Tackett; her brother, Garry Tackett; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alma and Cecil Rea; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Cecil Jr. and Barbara Rea; her grandson, Lucas Michael Oney; and her granddaughter, Sarah Louise Rea. She is survived by her daughter, Teri (Mike) Oney; son, Steve (Lori) Rea; grandchildren, Megan Rea (Matt Kimley), Zach (Rachel) Oney, Nikki (Orville) Mills, Dillon (Brittany) Oney, Curtis Rea (Catie Lindsey) and Nathan (Luke) Reafeldt. She is also survived by great-granddaughters, Lillian, Vivian and Olivia Rose Conley, Olivia Jean Oney; great-grandsons, Noland Mills, Colton and Lucas Graham Oney, Liam, Elijah and Matthew Oney. Also surviving is her best friend, Daisy Mae. Her family would like to thank the Madison Township Fire and EMS, South Charleston Police Department, Meadow Grove Transitional Care and Bella Care Hospice. Family will receive friends from 10am-12pm on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Ingling & Lewis Funeral Home in South Charleston. Funeral service will begin at 12pm with Pastor Bruce Sigman officiating.
