Donald Lee Massey went to be with the Lord, February 7, 2025 surrounded by his family and his furry friends, Augie, Walker and Bo.
Don was born January 17, 1944 to Glenn and Imogene Massey in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Don graduated from Rockridge High School in the class of 1962. He attended Muscatine Community College before enlisting in the Army. He was stationed in Germany for the majority of his enlistment working on NIKE missiles. It was there that he married Cristina Strauss and accepted her daughter Diana as his own. They later divorced and he married Patricia Tindall. His son, Brian arrived through their union. They later divorced and he married Joanne Bradley. They then welcomed Jonathan and Joshua.
He was employed by Farmall in Rock Island before and after his service in the Army. When Farmall closed, he transferred in 1987 to the Springfield Ohio Navistar plant until his retirement in 2006.
Don is survived by his wife, Joanne; daughter, Diana (Brian) Punch of Oak Harbor, Washington; sons, Brian Massey, of Taylor Ridge, Illinois; Jonathan (Brooke) Massey of Cape Coral, Florida; Joshua (Daniele) Massey of Springfield, Ohio; grandsons, Evan, Logan, Dalton Massey all of Springfield, Ohio; granddaughters, Madison and McKenzie Beeler of Springfield, Ohio; brothers, Jack (Rhonda) Massey of Reynolds, Illinois; WC (Dub) and wife Cindy Massey of Nichols, Iowa; special friends, Bill Stewart, Dick Moroney and Stephen Wideke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, Mike and sister, Glenda.
Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025 at the Wheelen Pressley Funeral Home in Milan, Illinois. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial at Illinois City Cemetery, Illinois City, Illinois with luncheon to follow at the Illinois City Hall.
