Dennis Gordon Acles

Dennis Gordon Acles, a resident of Springfield, Ohio, was born on November 18, 1952. He passed away in his residence on December 21, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

Dennis is survived by his former wife and mother of his children, Theresa Lorton-Jerger. He was a devoted father to his daughter and son, Sarah (Chris) Schmitt and Brandon (Rhonda) Acles. He took great pride in his role as a grandfather to Davin Songer, Leayn Howell, James Howell, Beau Schmitt, Kara Schmitt and Levalyn Acles and his great-grandchildren, Zoe Howell and Ziegyn Lax, who brought immense joy to his life.

His relationships extended beyond his immediate family; he shared a unique and special bond with numerous nieces and nephews, who will remember him fondly. Dennis was also well-connected through his siblings, Debbie Chandler, Diana (Ed) Collura, Doug (Debbie) Acles, Dale Acles, and Donald Acles, who supported him throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Virginia (Reis) Acles; brother-in-law, Jack Chandler; nephew, Shane Acles; and his beloved companion and 4-legged best friend, Bunny. 

Dennis often found comfort and camaraderie among the Springfield DAV, where he spent time with friends. As a golfing fanatic, Dennis cherished the time spent on the greens, making connections and memories with family and friends. Holidays were particularly special to him, often celebrating them at his nephew Blake’s house. He loved to cook and entertain family and friends and found joy in making others happy. 

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date to be announced.
