David W. Reed, passed away peacefully on December 8, 2024, in Springfield, Ohio. He was born on October 14, 1946, in Lima, the son of the late Frank and Audrey (Patton) Reed.
David had a distinguished career, retiring after 30 years from Bell Telephone Company. Beyond his professional achievements, David proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. As an Air Traffic Controller, he played a critical role in ensuring the safety of countless flights, and much of his service was spent in Thailand.
In his leisure time, David found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid golfer and bowler, passions that allowed him to connect with friends and enjoy the outdoors.
David is survived by his brother, H. Douglas (Barb) Reed, and his sister, Beverly K. (Vernon) Brentlinger. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Thomas Reed.
David will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery.
