David "Dave" Richard Horner

David “Dave” Richard Horner, age 64, of Springfield, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 8, 2022. He was born on September 1, 1958, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Richard Paul and Carolee (Schnelker) Horner. Dave is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his loving mother, Carol Horner; sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Gary Kill and Donna and David Thomas; nephews and nieces, Andy Kill, Amy (Craig) Taylor, Adam (Sarah) Kill, Alex Thomas and Nick Thomas; great-nephews and great-niece, Noah, Eileen and Zayn; and numerous friends. Dave graduated from Bowling Green State University. He taught Science at Greenon High School for 28 years and retired in 2012. While teaching, he was involved in numerous activities at the high school including operating the sound and lights for events. He was currently employed at Midwest Surplus Electronics where he’s worked for over 25 years. Dave was passionate about electronics and enjoyed working on them in his free time. He enjoyed going to the lake, particularly Sylvan Lake in Indiana, and he loved boating.
