Danny Lee Hitt

July 7, 1943 — March 31, 2023

Danny Lee Hitt, age 79, of South Charleston, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, March 31, 2023 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born on July 7, 1943, in Greenfield, Ohio, the son of the late Wayne and Norma (Stuckey) Hitt.

Danny is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Linda (Storts) Hitt; children, Kim (Bill) Mickens, Brad (Liz) Hitt and Craig (Megan) Hitt; sister, Diane (Jack) Blain; grandchildren, Lindsay Harrington (Eddie), Caleb Diamond, Jordan (Kenzie) Hitt and Courtney (Jake) Bowman; great-grandchildren, Braxton, Emmie, Braylen and Bexlee; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; and numerous friends.

Danny proudly served in the United States Air Force. He worked at Cascade for 28 years and retired from Honda after 15 years of service. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed cooking and spent endless days gardening. Whether it was riding his Harley or travelling around the United States with his wife, spending time with his family always came first. He treasured every moment he could spend with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making sure he attended their activities and sports and always cheering them on. During the fall months, if he wasn’t enjoying the outdoors, you could find Danny cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals. No matter where he was or what he was doing, Danny always made sure his family knew how much he loved them and that they were the most important part of his life.

A celebration of Danny’s life will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 4-6 p.m. at the Parish Hall on W. Mound St. in South Charleston. Minister Andy Myers will be giving his eulogy at 5p.m. Condolences may be expressed to his family by visiting www.jacksonlytle.com.
