Corda L. Gullett

Corda L. Gullett, a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on January 6, 2025, at Vancrest of Urbana. Born on April 15, 1937, in Apple Grove, West Virginia, she exemplified hard work and hospitality throughout her life. Corda worked alongside her sister, Mardelle, at Ferncliff Floral, where their shared dedication to their craft was evident to all who encountered their beautiful arrangements.

She embraced her family with open arms, maintaining a warm and welcoming demeanor that endeared her to family and friends alike. Corda's interests included reading and sewing, pursuits that reflected her creative spirit and commitment to both personal growth and family traditions.

Corda is survived by her loving sons, David Stewart, Dann (Cam) Stewart, and Brian Gullett; daughters, Penny (Jay) Underwood and Rebecca (Vic) Murphy. She found joy in her grandchildren, including Luke Underwood, Steven Weatherhead, Levi Underwood, Logan Underwood, Eli Underwood, Tim Benton, Jeremy Benton, Ashley Dillman, Brandon Plummer, Josh Seitz, Heather Motts, Cassondra Fleece, Andrew Fleece, Jessica Eckleberry, Melanie Burba, and Quinn Frost. In addition to her grandchildren, Corda was blessed with 39 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren, a testament to her legacy of love and family unity.

Among her cherished relatives, Corda is also survived by her sisters, Mardelle Ferryman and Fonda (Jim) Geer, and a special niece, Teresa Greene, in addition to numerous other nieces and nephews who held her dearly in their hearts. The family would like to thank her special friends, Pam Douglas and Brian & Joni Blue. 

Corda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jessie L. Gullett, and her daughter, Lynn Plummer. She also mourned the loss of her parents, Robert (Mildred) Greene and Grace (Robinson) Greene, as well as her siblings, Joyce Greene and Robert A. Greene Jr.

A memorial gathering in honor of Corda will take place on January 11, 2025, starting at 10:30 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life beginning at 12:00 PM. Both events will be held at Jackson Lytle and Lewis Life Celebration Center, located at 2425 N Limestone St, Springfield, OH 45503.

Corda L. Gullett's enduring spirit and love for her family will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew her. She leaves behind a rich legacy of compassion, creativity, and dedication to those she cherished. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.  To celebrate Corda's life, friends and family are encouraged to wear her favorite color purple.
