Charles Robert Spurlin

SPURLIN, Charles Robert "Chuck" age 60 of Springfield, Ohio passed away with his family by his side on Monday, October 7, 2024 at his home. He was born on December 15, 1963 in Birmingham, Alabama to Charles L. Spurlin and Peggy (Cardwell) Neal. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 30 years, Paula J. Spurlin; sons: Charles Andrew (Madison DeWine) Spurlin and Cole (Ashley Collins) Cavins and his grandchildren who brought so much joy to him: Elizabeth Grace Marie Spurlin and Charles Nicholaus Robert Spurlin, sisters in laws Wendy (Mike) Dobie and Leslie (Doug) Crew and brother in law Joe l(Lisa) Wickline, nieces Nichole(Michael) King, Meagan Wickline, Kaleigh Dobie, Emma Crew, nephews, Evan Crew, Dallas Wickline, Kyler(Allie) and Brayden King. Many relatives in Alabama and many friends all over our country. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved parents and grandparents, Papaw and Mamaw, Charles A.V. And Elsie Spurlin, Maternal Grandparents, father-in-law, Wendell Wickline and mother-in-law, Donna Payton. Chuck retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant serving his country proudly for 23 years. He was currently employed at the Department of Defense and had been employed there since 2007. Chuck enjoyed spending time with his beloved family and making memories vacationing and spending time on the Ohio River boating and smoking meat with his sister and brother-in-law, Mike and Wendy Dobie. He loved being the center of attention and making people laugh. He will be greatly missed by those who loved and knew him. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Jackson Lytle & Lewis Life Celebration Center from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 p.m. Military honors will be performed to commemorate his time in the Air Force.
